Once In My Life Elsa Birgitta Bekman

My music has always been a way for me to challenge my inner demons and to settle with painful experiences. The sound on my album corresponds to an ever-present nostalgia I've been dealing with.

All the songs have been written over a period of 12 years. The earliest, Cross That Line, when I was only 15. Each song is in a way a snapshot in time, from when I was a teenager, well into my twenties. It's typically a time of trying to figure out life and finding your way with it.

Along the way I've struggled with depression, letting go of past times, and the major changes that life's had in store for me. The songs are about (first) loves and heartbreaks, a desire to lose my virginity, insecurities, musing on life and choosing your own path.

My most recent written song on this album is Desire Lines, written in 2017. It's a consideration of these past years and the decisions I've made. This album, in a way, serves to close this chapter of my life, contented. I've processed hardships, grown wiser and followed my heart.

Once in my Life is an homage to the person I used to be and all the form- ative events that have taken place so far that made me who I am today.
