“Boom Boom Ultimate Animals 1963-1966” ir visu laiku visplašākais The Animals retrospektīvais izdevums.

Šī iespaidīgā kolekcija, kas sadalīta astoņos kompaktdiskos un vienā DVD, iedziļinās grupas īsajā, bet ārkārtīgi produktīvajā periodā no 1963. līdz 1966. gadam.

Ar vairāk nekā 150 skaņdarbiem boksets piedāvā līdz šim neizdotas pērles līdzās visiem grupas studijas ierakstiem no 1963. līdz 1966. gadam, kas pirmo reizi ir apkopoti un remasterēti vienā izdevumā.

Komplektā iekļautajā DVD ir ilgi pazudusī dokumentālā filma The World Of The Animals, kuras režisors ir Richard Mordaunt un kura uzņemta 1965./66. gadā grupas turneju laikā ASV un Polijā. Tas ir unikāls vēsturisks laikmeta liecinieks un obligāti skatāms materiāls ikvienam The Animals fanam.

CD1 iekļauts grupas pašnosauktais debijas albums The Animals remasterētā versijā, papildināts ar singliem, kas nebija iekļauti oriģinālajā albumā, Graphic Sound ierakstiem, kā arī trim līdz šim neizdotām uzstāšanās reizēm Radio Luxembourg.

CD2 piedāvā grupas otro albumu Animal Tracks remasterētā versijā ar bonusa dziesmām, savukārt CD3 beidzot sniedz trešajam albumam Animalisms ilgi gaidīto britu pārizdevumu kopā ar saistītajiem singliem, kas iepriekš nav bijuši iekļauti albumā.

CD4 un CD5 iezīmē pirmo oficiālo britu izdevumu attiecīgi Animalism mono un stereo miksiem, kurus Decca Lielbritānijā nekad neizlaida grupas izjukšanas dēļ 1966. gada beigās.

CD6 un CD7 iedziļinās grupas leģendārajās BBC sesijās. Ar 59 skaņdarbiem visi zināmie, saglabātie BBC ieraksti pirmo reizi tiek prezentēti oficiālā, ar autortiesībām apstiprinātā izdevumā.

CD8 apkopo virkni bonusa ierakstu no Warner arhīviem, tostarp instrumentālos pavadījumus un agrīnās darba versijas labi zināmām dziesmām.

Papildus plašajai mūzikas kolekcijai boksets satur daudz retu piemiņlietu un fotogrāfiju, tostarp avīžu rakstus, sludinājumus, vēstules, plakātus un koncertu skrejlapas. Materiālus nodrošinājis grupas dalībnieks John Steel, kā arī The Animals entuziasti Kim Chester un Ashley Wood. Izdevumu papildina plaši liner notes, ko sarakstījis The Animals biogrāfs Sean Egan.
