Sweet Agnes

Masayoshi Takanaka

Japan Import Colored Vinyl edition

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of Agnes Lum's visit to Japan. Masayoshi Takanaka's memorable 1st single "Sweet Agnes," released in 1976, is reissued on 12-inch, 45 rpm colored vinyl. With a reproduced jacket from the 7-inch edition featuring a cute close-up shot of Agnes, the title track - newly written as the theme song for the short film "Taiyo no Koibito Agnes Lum," released in the summer of the same year - is a fusion number perfect for summer. The coupling track "Tokyo Reggae" is an insert song from the same film with lyrics by Yukihiro Takahashi. A city pop killer tune on which Takanaka himself takes the vocals, it is a song from his 1st album "Seychelles," whose popularity overseas has risen especially in recent years. Remastering & Cutting by Alex Wharton (ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS, LONDON)
