The pioneering R&B diva Ruth Brown was the first black female to achieve sustained success in the field of R&B and has influenced generations of vocalists. Equally adept at singing blues, R&B, jazz and rock, Brown shows her jazz chops on the rare album presented here, originally released in 1978.
