After acclaimed excursions into the pop and jazz of the 1920s and 30s, Canadian singer Diana Krall returned to her musical roots in 2017: sensual interpretations of classics from the Great American Songbook. And that's not all: she also reunited with Tommy LiPuma, with whom she had already produced her successful albums The Look Of Love and Love Scenes. The musicians who play with Krall on piano in trios, quartets and quintets are also long-time companions, including bassist Christian McBride and guitarist Russell Malone. Turn Up The Quiet is an elegant, effortless album for late night listening.
