Captured live at the Fillmore West in 1971 just one week before King Curtis was found murdered, the brilliance of this tenor saxophonist can be found in each cut of this playful and yet stunning performance. With backup by the Memphis Horns and Billy Preston, Curtis makes a statement doing some of the biggest hits of the times, like "A White Shade of Pale," George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord," "Ode to Billie Joe," "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" and showed why he was known as "King Curtis."
