In order to catch a notorious sex criminal linked with numerous female abductions police detective Marshall (Cavill) is forced to join forces with a local vigilante named Cooper (Kingsley). When they successfully capture the mentally unstable Simon (Brendan Fletcher), newly qualified police psychologist Rachel (Daddario) is frustrated by the department's eagerness to complete the case and not allow her to profile the criminal.

However, when Simon reveals that he has not been working alone their assumptions about the case are challenged and a precarious game of cat and mouse begins...
