Slayer is an American thrash metal band founded in 1981 by Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman. The band is on par with three of the biggest bands in the genre: Metallica, Megadeath and Anthrax. The name stands for ‘Satan Laughs As You Eternally Rot’ and was the start of an eerie and exciting chapter in the heavy metal genre, whose concerts consisted of ecstatic fans who turned into a giant mosh-pit - is there anything cooler ?!
