As a child my parents would never buy me a coloring book. They loved me enough to encourage me to be creative and express my own thoughts, dreams and creations without being bound by the parameters of what had already been created by someone else. To this day I still remember the hours and hours of creating my own drawings and then coloring them in. If I went outside of the lines I'd created it didn't matter, it was my design and I could do whatever I wanted to with it. I encourage you to release the creativity of your children by helping them create their own coloring images. They'll remember it forever with the fondest of memories.
