Classic Longfellow Poems English-Chinese Version Mingshan Wu

The great poems of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the 19th century American romantic poet, have been translated into many languages and enjoyed worldwide fame. Many of the poems have been translated into Chinese. I have translated 72 classics from his vast works to Chinese, so that readers might learn more about the poet's thoughts from another angle and better appreciate his great works. The seventy-two poems that I have translated are selected from different collections of poems published in different periods of the poet's life, the period from 1825 to 1893 almost covering the whole life of the poet. Except "The Building of the Ship" and "The Skeleton in Armor", which is relatively long, the rest are famous short poems, which can represent the aesthetic thought and artistic style of Longfellow's poetry, from which we can see the trajectory of the development of the poet's thought. The early "The Voice of Night" is beautiful and pure, but the later sonnets are more profound and extensive. What is the distinguishing feature e of Longfellow's poetry?From these seventy-two classic works we can see that behind the beautiful scene described by the poet is the invisible, peaceful, pure, universal, selfsame, dialectical, divine spirit of life, penetrating In all things, through all things, which is not only the making of all the shapes and forms of the universe, but is the soul for all living things.
