A R Valeson

Requiem of the Swan Prince A R Valeson

Ludwig II led a life immersed in dreams and fantasy through which he found comfort from the loneliness and disillusionment of kingship. He sought to bring to life the ideal world of medieval chivalry and folklore, carried away by the romantic waves of Wagner's music, building his castles in the sky and a legacy of otherwordly wonder. This surreal tale seeks to rekindle the world which the author believes had dwelt in the king's heart, a psychological novel taking place between life and death, reality and dreams, madness and sanity. Forever pursuing the mysteries of the grail and basking in the fading light of ancient heroes, Ludwig further distanced himself from the duties and oppressive bureaucracy of his station, grasping at beautiful shadows and flames until they engulf the emptiness and longing of his reclusive soul for a forbidden immortal love that survives only in the grotto of ideals.
