Has there ever been a time in your life that you felt you had fulfilled most of life's purpose? And God whispers. A time when you had assumed that all God assigned to your hands had been accomplished? And God whispers. Or even a time when you were ready to settle down and enjoy the fruit of your labor? And God whispers. A time when you were getting comfortable and content with your lives, and then suddenly your life makes a shift change and ascends to very unfamiliar territory. And this ascension was unexpected, unintentional, and you're definitely unprepared. Because God whispered. It's so easy to be religious and not have a heart for people. We see this clearly in the parable of the Good Samaritan. How does this relate to us? In today's society, we see all kinds of people who-like the victim in the parable-are half dead. They may be walking around, but they are wounded, with no life in them. Do you have compassion that will mount up? As Christians, we may feel bad for them but also reluctant to get involved, thinking, "If I start to help, where will it end? There could be unintended consequences." People who fail to "see beyond themselves" are usually selfish, insecure, or both. The Good Samaritan didn't think about any of that. What made him reach out was the fact that he was moved with mercy. His compassion soared beyond himself or others. The Good Samaritan didn't save the world; he saved one person! And we can do the same by the power of the Holy Spirit as we follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Have you ever received a mandate precisely from the Lord and delivered by His Holy Spirit? If so, it's not a question as to whether you'll accept or not, because it was issued in love; no matter what's going on in your world at the present, you will comply if at all possible. Obedience, that is the central word for my entire journey. I invite you into the pages of this book to witness our Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient God and the working of His Holy Spirit in the life of His servant when He whispered.
