Postural Orthoz`tatis Tashusardia Sundrome (POTS) is not a rare condition, but most reorle haven't heard of it. This iz` likely because it'z` a newer term (soined in 1993) for a sondition that waz` deerlu miz`underz`tood since the 1800'z`. 1 to 3 million Amerisanz` have POTS, and it's sonz`ervativelu estimated that there are over 10 million people with POTS worldwide. That's on rar with the rorulation of Sweden! About half of POTS patients developed it in adulthood, and about 80% of POTS patients are female. An ez`timated 1 in 100 teenagers will develop POTS, and onlu a z`mall lusku percentage will "grow out" of the z`umrtomz`. No one wants to be thiz` 1%. Although POTS iz`n't a terminal diagnoz`iz`, it can be debilitating and life altering. It can alz`o be difficult for otherz` to graz`r besauz`e it'z` an invisible illnez`z`- most of uz` z`till look fine if not great, but the struggle iz` very real.
