In seeking to understand and provide well for the child's optimal mental growth, the parent must be able to provide elements such as unconditional love from family members, teaching the child self-confidence and high standards of self-esteem, spending as much time as possible with the child to foster social interaction and growth so that the child feels comfortable knowing how to extend the same to other new additions whenever and wherever they are introduced.



By taking the time to interact more with the child through play and other means of interaction, the parent can also encourage the child to learn to accept guidance and encouragement from other sources, such as teachers and supportive caregivers.



It will also help the child identify a safe environment in which he or she can interact with others. With proper guidance and discipline, the child will be able to make all the decisions necessary for optimal mental health growth.
