The stories of this book are true about a young girl growing up in what was later realized as poverty, living in an Alley (four room block project) with a total of 11 family members until pre-teen age. Experiencing the emotional moments of the death of several close family members and beating the odds of being abused herself. In the midst of experiencing subtle abuse toward family members, self and close relatives, she steadfastly overcomes multiple obstacles- raising two kids alone and earning several degrees inclusive of: Bachelors of Science in Sociology and Criminal Justice; Masters of Public Administration, Certified Public Manager and a Non-Profit Management Certification. Now living above what most would label as the middle class population, her home is now on the Boulevard and her mission is to share some of her life stories to help other young women succeed! This author has retired from a very successful career in State Government after beginning her first job at age 14 and worked, continuously and constantly, several combined jobs for 44 years! She exemplifies the very essence of an ethical hard worker, mother and grandmother. She has never violated or broke the law and courageously escaped short of becoming a statistic of domestic violence. Her message promotes encouraging and inspiring young mothers, who thinks or feels, that their life is too hard to handle and wants to give up - she conveys a very strong and spiritual message - trust and believe (TAB)! Through her perseverance and hard work, she is now the Founder and CEO of a non-profit organization created in honor of her mom who suffered and died of the deadly disease of Alzheimer's. The organizations' mission is to bring awareness to caregivers about the disease and to consult with those suffering with mental illnesses - all in an effort to support the cause for a cure of Alzheimer's!
