Gods of the Impossible West Tom Lund

With the scent of approaching rain in his nostrils, an old man puts boot to earth and begins his journey up the gorge. The dogs tell him this may be the hundred year storm that will wash the canyon clean, but there is no turning back. This is his final pilgrimage, and someone waits for him at its end. His mind is mostly gone. He remembers little of who he is or how he came to dwell in this gorge at the edge of the barren west. But he knows the answers he seeks lie at the end of this journey. The answers lie with her.
