Love is More Depressing Than Depression Mahir Muhammad

This is a book of poetry and illustrations describing my thoughts and feelings during what I consider to be my darkest time. 2019. Years of unchecked mental illness from depression and possible post-traumatic stress disorder are what resulted in what I call the worst year of my life. This book is a memoir that does not detail events, but feelings that plagued me throughout the year. From topics like heartbreak and self-loathing to major depression and suicide. Those struggling with mental illness are often unable to voice what they think or feel due to stigma and judgement that may result from opening up about these topics. Rather than fear the love that nearly put me in a grave, I have decided to spread what love I have left in my damaged heart, in hope of bettering the lives of those around me. In order to do so, I must embrace my history. I hope you read this book and understand the pain I felt. I hope you are inspired to empathize more with those close to you. I hope you accept them, despite their flaws, and love them regardless.
