I learned not to take my life for granted. After my maternal grandmother died, I went to heavy mourning. Odd symptoms developed on my skin and hair by my senior year in high school. I was diagnosed with lupus. Lupus is an auto-immune disease that can affect any organ of your body. Lupus is not contagious. The cause is unknown and there is no known cure. Lupus Journey is a coming of age memoir that talks about what I went through with lupus, the challenges I faced graduating high school, college, and trying to live a normal life.
