Natalie has always lived in her own world. The only other people there are her younger sister, Anika, and her two adoptive parents. Natalie has lived on the mountain as long as she can remember. Her mom told her that she has everything right here, and she doesn't need anything else. But Natalie has always been called to the world beneath the mountain. She sneaks out of the house, just to explore the mountain. She hides things in her room, just to evade her mom. She isn't as proper and prim as her parents would like. It's obvious to Natalie, that this isn't her home. When her sister, Anika, gets very sick, Natalie must set out to the world beneath the mountain, to find medicine for her sister. The world beneath her home is nothing like her own. Magic beyond belief, insane things she never imagined she'd have to face. Natalie will have to fight for what she needs, and wants. But will she be able to return to her family in time, before the virus takes their life?
