Billy's advert for a Mail Order Bride by Christmas turns out to be just what both of them need - at least, that's how it appears. But between Billy's reluctance to let himself love again, Alice's need for honesty, and a dastardly plot to take Billy's farm from him by the New Year, things aren't exactly going smoothly in Shallow Gorge. Only two things can bring these two people together when they're as different as Billy and Alice: understanding and love.
