No Other Name is a book that discusses what it means to follow Jesus. Jesus' mandate to the church is to make disciples, yet that has not been an explicit feature of many churches. In so many cases a person is saved, they start attending church and sort of get into a rhythm of being Christian in a manner that is more or less consistent with the group with which they fellowship. This book is an attempt to help address that and help new Christians begin their journey of following Jesus as well as give guidance and encouragement to Christians who have been in the church for some time, but have never had the opportunity to be explicitly discipled.

This book is structed into four distinct modules: Believe, Know, Transform and Live. We need to know what it is we are to believe, build a body of knowledge upon that belief, which in turn reveals how we are to transform into the image of Christ and thus live as salt and light in the world. The church is to carry on the mission of Jesus and so every believer has a role to play, which gives purpose for living.

As a foundational book on discipleship, it does not cover every aspect of Christianity, nor does it go into great depth, but it is comprehensive. Therefore, this book serves as a foundation for the place of faith, and what it is that God is asking us to believe, through to how these core beliefs are to be lived out. A Christian is a new creation, with a new Lord and God, with a new purpose and eternal hope. This is all too easily squandered for a lack of knowledge. May the reader of this book find the joy there is in following the Good Shepherd.
