The Luther Madrigals by Bernd Franke were commissioned by Hermann Max and the Alte Musik Festival in Knechtsteden near Cologne in 2015. The premiere took place in September 2015 by the Kings Singers. Franke has composed a collage of texts by Martin Luther and Zeitzeuge, Which particularly emphasize his ironic and snappy-humorous vein. The lyrics are taken from a section of How you like it from Shakespeare, the famous All the worlds a stage.
