Klara, who is six, likes to make her own decisions. It’s not easy because other people also get to decide. Klara lives with foster mom Nilla, while her mom sleeps in a hospital, her dad in another place, and little sister Lena somewhere else. This was not something Klara decided.
Every day Klara tries to help her dad, who sometimes sleeps on a park bench which is embarrassing in front of new friends. But today, he is nowhere to be found. Klara tells herself it will all be fine. When a little white lie puts her in a corner and everything seems like it’s going to unravel, Klara must choose between revealing the truth to a friend and
saving her father.

About the Author
The author Eva Edberg grew up in a foster home in Sweden and has written several popular children’s and young adult books. The series about Klara is autofictional, with stories that are both poignant and resourceful. They open up important conversations about love and family that all children can relate to, as Klara confronts her fears and realizes her strengths.
