Calcium salt deposition normally occurs only in the formation of bone and the teeth. It is considered as a pathological process when it occurs elsewhere, including the secretory and excretory passages and in soft tissue. This soft tissue calcification may develop into a wide variety of unrelated disorders and degenerative processes.
