Regional variation in crop-sector in Manipur state in India is owing to topographical as well as agro-ecological differentiation manifested in economic activities as such the valley districts exhibiting relative advantages over the hilly districts in terms of quantum of fertilizer use per hectare, proportionately larger areas under irrigation and mechanization and relatively better served by financial institutions,particularly by co-operatives and by infrastructure facilities leading to distinct cropping pattern and agricultural practices and revealing variation in crop-yield.
