Since many years the efforts are underway for developing simple, rapid and easly accessable methods for enriching the unculturable plantphytoplasmas. This book describes an effective and simple rapid differential filtration technique which offers 100 fold phytoplasma particles enrichemcnt and 148-fold more sensitivity for their detection. This book delinates and proove the association of SCGS and SCMV association in Phytopalsma disease in sugarcane. The another method described in this book have potential for developing phytoplasma species-specific detection tools as author describes an efficient SCGS specific detection tools having 13% more efficiency than the present day universal detection system. The methodlogies presented in this book are very easily accesable to small laboratries and can be mimiced for other phytoplasma studies.
