Zwei Transkriptionen über Mozarts Requiem, S. 550 Franz Liszt

Composed in 1862 when Liszt learned of the ultimate impossibility of his marriage to Princess Carolyne the two transcriptions from Mozart's 'Requiem' of 'Confutatis maledictis' and Lacrymosa' hint at contrition mixed with hope mixed with acceptance. In the wake of the events which prevented the marriage, Liszt would turn to God and these transcriptions stand at the outset of a deeply spiritual journey for the composer. --- Komponiert im Jahr 1862, als Liszt von der letztendlichen Unmöglichkeit erfuhr, eine Ehe mit Prinzessin Carolyne eingehen zu können, deuten die zwei Transkriptionen von Mozarts 'Requiem', 'Confutatis Maledictis' und Lacrymosa' auf eine mit Hoffnung und Akzeptanz durchwirkte Reue. Im Zuge der Ereignisse, die die Ehe verhinderten, wandte sich Liszt Gott zu, und diese Transkriptionen stehen am Anfang einer zutiefst spirituellen Reise für den Komponisten.
