Enayat Abdel-wahab
Schizophrenia affects approximately one percent of the population world wide. It is a chronic illness consisting of both positive and negative symptoms, such as social withdrawal and impaired social functioning, as the hallmarks of the disorder. Schizophrenic patients perceived themselves as being less effective at initiating social interaction, less capable of providing emotional support to others, and less able to manage conflict in their interpersonal relationships. The schizophrenic patients need emotional and social support from others to maintain their stability and their interpersonal competence.
