Rural Poverty in Ethiopia Sheberu Tessema

The book deals with some of the conceptual, methodological and empirical issues and difficulties that arise in the assessment of poverty. To capture multidimensional phenomena of poverty, this study used two ways of poverty assessments. The first was FGT for describing poverty status and econometrics model which is binary logistic regression model for identifying the determinants of household poverty status. The study also tried to review the core available literatures which written on poverty. The material and methods used in the study in order to generate data which help to find solutions to achieve study objectives. The results of this study may offer authentic information which will help graduate students in economics, researchers, policy makers and development practitioners take actions to formulate and tune appropriate policies sensitive to contexts and locations to address the concern of the welfare of the poor households.
