The Typological Characteristics in Kokbrok: a Linguistic Pragmatic Study
Yasser Ahmed
The book introduces a linguistic pragmatic study of the major language called Kokbrok,a Tibeto-Burman language, which is spoken in Tripura, an Indian state and a linguistic area near Bangladesh. According to the native speakers, Kokbrok means "Man Language". Also, the study is based on the syntactic, lexical, morphological and phonological levels. Kokbrok, to some extent, offers all kinds of verbs including psychological verbs which are not found either in English or even in some SALs, South Asian Languages. It is sayable that the study covers most of the typological features that are existed in any other language. Moreover, the study is a steady foundation and contains reliable data for any future research. It contains some information about the languages, people, religions and other things in the State of Tripura.
