Valence adjustment is a very much complicated issue. The term valence is not related only with verbs. Other word categories like adpositions (i.e. Prepositions and postpositions) have also valence. However, the focus of this book is only on the link between morphology and syntax in Sidaama as realized in the verbal valence adjustment. Particularly this book focuses on different valence-increasing and valence-decreasing operations that are found in Sidaama language from both morphological and syntactic point of view.
