Duration Analysis: Theory and Application to Austrian Unemployment Data Irene Hofstetter

Other than a common time-point related point of view on unemployment data, this book comprises different statistical methods to determine influencing factors on unemployment duration. A non-parametric analysis method, the Kaplan-Meier-estimation as well as parametric estimations are demonstrated. The third approach examined in the book is a semi-parametric model, Cox proportional hazard (CPH) modeling. All three approaches are applied to Austrian unemployment sample data.
