About the original book: The Prince and the Pauper, by Mark Twain, is a historical fiction set in 1547. The story is about identity exchange of two boys: one a pauper from Pudding Lane of London and other the Prince of England. The book was first published in 1881 in Canada. About this edition: This edition is aimed at explaining the original book, and its Victorian language, to its young readers. The book offers footnotes where a brief explanation may help its reader in comprehending the text and the story better.
