There was a gentle soul I loved to the ends of the earth and back, a breakup on the mends and almost fatal car crash. Healing, anger and love all played a role. Relationships took their toll all around, and my life was turned upside down as I gave up my home and the man I love lay broken and fused with steel. An adventure, good friends and chaos took the stage as I fell into the eyes and arms of an unexpected face from my past. It was a symphony of chaos, and its own weird way it was blissful. It was the some of the highest and lowest moments of my life. Unlike Icarus, I heeded the warnings of my father. Balance was the key to surviving the chaos and I was hell bent on making it through. I turned my very heart into words so I could look back and remember my strength in moments where I felt anything but. This is the first chapter of a story but none of it is in order. It is not in order because things never happen the way you expect them to and you've got to piece together the puzzle until it all makes sense. --- This is J. L. Fizzell's first anthology of poetry inspired by a series of events which would come to reshape many a life. Themes of love, loss and self discovery are at the forefront of this book, along with pieces that touch on the struggles of mental health, trauma, and the whirlwind that is life. It was published in 2018 along with two companion anthologies also published in 2018.
