All the tales in this collection were written or inspired whilst walking the South Devon stretch of the South West Coast Path of England - from Plymouth to Seaton, a distance of 125 miles. This book will provide great reading for visitors to this stretch of coastline, or for armchair readers wanting short reads, or to add an interesting dimension to the adventure of walking the South West Coast Path. This book has a bit of everything - murder, ghostly visitations, apocalyptic events and shape-shifting landscapes. As is usual in this Twisted Tales series of books, the stories in this collection are a mixture of fact and fiction. The places are factual (including, amongst others, Plymouth, Torquay, Teignmouth, Sidmouth) and provide the setting for the stories. Much of this coastline has a long history in the defence of the UK, evidenced by a proliferation of old disused military structures that are scattered along the coastline and this important part of UK history has been incorporated into some of the stories. The people, however, are fortunately fictional, though some of the situations they find themselves in are based on true accounts. The South West Coast Path begins at Minehead in Somerset and follows the coast for 630 miles to Poole in Dorset. 'Twisted Tales of South Devon' is the third book in the Twisted Tales series. Each volume in this series covers a different county, though North Devon, being a short stretch, has been included in the Somerset volume. Other books in the series include: 'Twisted Tales of Somerset and North Devon', 'Twisted Tales of Cornwall' and 'Twisted Tales of Dorset'.
