THE ADVENTURES OF SIGI-A Day In The Mangrove Forest
Candace Carson
Toothy alligators that "smack, slap, splat" and intruders that "thumpety, bumpety, bump." Ghost orchids and "walking trees", sleepy snakes and rookeries. The place is full of slimy frogs and loons, sticky spider webs and hungry raccoons. Sigi visits the magical mangrove forest. Thank goodness someone brought a net!"A Day in the Mangrove Forest," is the fifth book in THE ADVENTURES OF SIGI series of children's picture books about a real dog living in Florida. Using rhyme and repetition, Sigi relates his adventures, which are not unlike those of many children. Color, shape and number recognition figure prominently throughout. Items are hidden in the book to encourage observational skills. Page numbers to locate the items can be found on Sigi's website, www. TheAdventuresOfSigi.com
