Rading through The Editor's Wastebasket is like finding a chest filled with memories, hopes and dreams. Author Mario Fumarola looks back over a road traveled in eight decades, trying to ocus through the haze of memories and listening for the laughter of life. This book is a collage of memories and meditations (some sad, some sweet) of the past (the Italian-American enclave of East Utica, NY), the present (old age in Pennsylvania), and thoughts of his kids in the world of the new technologies. Taken together, they are consistently charming and touching.
