La Villa De Tolegassos Josep Casas

A report on excavations at the Roman villa of Tolegassos located in Ampurias, northeast Cataluna. The authors outline the background to the villa and the area surrounding it before focusing on the villa itself which was occupied from the 2nd century BC to the Augustan period. Evidence from the excavation, including pottery, faunal material, agricultural tools and other objects help to reconstruct the sequence of occupation, abandonment and later reoccupation and remodelling of the site, and to paint a picture of the overall economy and Romanisation of this area of northeast Cataluna.
