John Calvin

Commentary on the Book of the Prophet Isaiah - Volume I John Calvin

A true and refreshing look at the book of Isaiah, Calvin would be appalled at the outlooks on this book in today's liberal theologies. Calvin makes and defends the claim of Isaiah's authourship as well as the sovereignty of God throughout all the world. This look at the first sixteen chapters of the prophetic book help us to get a clearer picture of Isaiah's call, the fall of Babylon and the full condemnation of Israel for its alliances and vassal state towards many foreign powers. This first of a four volume set will make you rethink your theology and the position on many theological issues today. This book may have been written hundreds of years ago, but its relevance is still felt today, especially in the era of Liberal theological scholarship.
