James (Jim) Pemberton was born and raised in Kentucky. Joining the US Army at 17, he served most of his enlistment in Alaska just preceding and extending into the Vietnam war period. He attended Northwest Bible College for four years and was licensed as a minister with the Assembly of God denomination for seven years. For the last 30 years, he has assisted an estimated 14,000 plus families who have relocated to the United States from 140 countries. Assistance has varied from sponsorship, to collecting household goods, to immigration issues - many involving a huge variety of forms and applications, job assistance, medical and/or legal assistance, and emergencies to include prayer with them for many reasons and from many countries. Jim's wife, Yelena, was born in Siberia, Russia, and grew up in the Russian Orthodox Church. She provides an important element in connecting with many of the folks and brings a critical component to the team as she is always nearby. Each issue can be as different as the individual who enters the office. They have seen the Lord provide in numerous ways as needs were met and lives were blessed. Many stand out, and Jim shares those experiences in this book.
