(Black and white version) "An out-of-the-blue" cancer diagnosis sends Vee Howell's life into a spiraling free-fall. Like an experienced pilot, she seeks to regain control; however the "standard operating procedures" don't seem to apply to her case. Doctors struggled to provide a specific diagnosis. Through it all, she was able to daily declare to the medical staff, "I'm going to be the best patient you ever had." Following extensive deliberation, the medical team proceeded with a bone marrow transplant...a first on a person of her age. What follows is truly a miraculous journey. Her story, supplemented by her family support team, will surely inspire those who are experiencing major medical challenges and provide hope and encouragement for those who serve as caregivers.
