Life at 20' and the Kansas Whitetail. Includes over 190 hunts, information gleaned from over 700,000 game-camera pictures, and suggestions to improve your success. The 460 page book (paperback) includes chapters about past seasons, lessons learned and provides historical site development. Each hunt includes geographical illustrations to assist in understanding the terrain and allow a sense of what happened during the hunt. These hunts were written from the author's view and included all the hunts, good and bad days. This book can be read in several fashions: You can read every hunt as a chapter with the surrounding data that is supplied (i.e., sunrise, sunset, temperature, moon phases, and food source, accompanied with a picture of the geographical setup and "The Hunt"). You can peruse the book looking for the "Daylight Mature Buck Sighting." I have included these "Daylight Buck Sightings" from stand hunts, road scouting, and game camera pictures. The pictures/sightings only covered dates during the open bow season. You can read the suggestions for improving your chances to see more deer. (Mistakes=Success chapter) You can go straight to the appendices and read: o Descriptions of bedding areas, food and watering sources, and the developmental history for each site. o The equipment summary. o Or see the date and time graph of mature bucks spotted during daylight hours of the legal hunting season. As you are reading, you may come across vernacular you are not familiar with.
