Household Gods, written by Aleister Crowley in Italy in 1911, is one of his most erotic books. He called it a comedy. We leave it to the reader to decide. We at Watersgreen House will only say that we have not chosen our cover art lightly. .......... Crowley was once a member of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, but was thrown out in part due to his sexual orientation. He then founded his own order in Mexico, the Lamp of the Invisible Light. Crowley then wrote The Book Of Law, claiming it was written by an entity outside of him. He intended his new religion to replace all existing religions. We could go on. .......... Crowley became a cult hero during the sex and drugs culture of the late 1960s and early 70s. Most notably, Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page purchased his former estate and lived there for twenty-one years (it is featured in the film The Song Remains the Same). Crowley's likeness is on the cover of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album, he is the subject of a song by Ozzy Osbourne, and is referenced in David Bowie's song "Quicksand.".......... Watersgreen House is an independent international book publisher with editorial staff in the UK and USA. One of our aims at Watersgreen House is to showcase same-sex affection in works by important gay and bisexual authors in ways which were not possible at the time the books were originally published. We also publish nonfiction, including textbooks, as well as contemporary fiction that is literary, unusual, and provocative. watersgreen.wix.com/watersgreenhouse
