Sarina was 18, which was supposed to be the best day of her life as she left state custody and got out of the group home, however, her life was turned upside down when her Aunt Kathy told her she couldn't come there. Homeless, she was desperate, so her friend from work told her about an apartment in his complex for rent. Happy to have a place to go, she did the paperwork and headed to the place with Don. What she wasn't prepared for, was to find a dead body when they pulled down the bed. Sarina deals with not only having two detectives attempting to prove she did a murder she didn't do, a friend who is supposed to help her only to find she attacks her and put her in the hospital, and the death of her father all in a very short time. Sarina does get an apartment from a man who she doesn't know, and through a book that she finds there she gets into a class and then a job at the business he owns. Sarina thinks she is finally about to get her feet under her, when her world is rocked again when she learns of a plot that her family plans to pull her back into its deadly drama. She learns her father is not her biological father, and her family is not who they pretend to be. She, along with her new boyfriend, must find a way to defeat those who would force her to marry and produce a son for the family hierarchy. After a brutal attack, all Sarina wants is revenge and then to die. Can her boyfriend and friend show her another way?
