Tommy has her life settled. She's a widow but her sons are grown with families of their own and she is enjoying life as a nurse. That all changes when Pepsi begs her to take the baby she has born that is drug exposed so the child doesn't have to be placed in a stranger foster home. Tommy takes the child, but Pepsi gets angry when she can't come and go as she pleases to see Neveah. Tommy's world is ripped when Pepsi attacks her and she has to go to the hospital.
