Struggling with diets can be a very frustrating journey. This Biblical survey looks at dieting - Latin diaeta "prescribed way of life - from a Christian viewpoint by addressing spiritual truths and influences that might affect the way food is viewed. The truths examined are associated with certain colors found in the Old Testament account of the Tabernacle, with the hope that when the reader sees these striking colors - purple, blue, scarlet and white - in meals, they will be reminded that we are much more than the food we eat, and that God is with us in this journey. Whereas most diets look at calories and the types of foods we eat, this work looks rather at the whole person and how the soul and spirit also need to be fed. The reading is casual yet designed to challenge the reader to look deeper into how they see and know God, and His Son Jesus; and how this can affect daily living, including meal times. All scripture listed is bolded for easy reference; handy for individual and/or group studies.
