After twenty years as an air force pilot, a broken marriage, and more years flying for a commercial airline, he believes he is a success in life. Then his elderly mother is taken ill. When he comes home to see her through her final days, he finds Beth, his mother's lovely neighbor. Beth and Rick barely knew each other when they were younger, but from the moment Rick steps onto her front porch, sparks begin to fly. Rick sees that life in Latitude isn't the drab existence he had tried so hard to escape, and Beth realizes that there is more to life than getting by one day at a time.
