There are 8 stories in total written with that wry English sense of humour and with typical understated irony. With not a few twists and turns along the way. One deals with a dining room table and its burning! Unusual. Another with a young man looking back to the walk he used to enjoy by the seaside......'The Pier.' Next there is one for everyone to enjoy 'Walking the Dog', but with an English twist. Who has a dog like this one? 'Promises' talks about the separation caused by war and conflict. Again there is an unexpected turn. 'A gaseous story....' should see the death of all puns...a somewhat smelly episode. 'The resistible rise of Mandy Smith' should be a warning to us all. So too should be 'The Competition.' And finally an interesting take on how many, many people, men in particular, with mental ill health suffer too often in silence, called 'Lunatics only should apply.' All these stories are set along the Yorkshire coast of north east England. Most were written in the car park looking out to 'The Pier'. Read and enjoy!
