The book is especially suited to the boy reader. "Dutch Courage" from which the collection takes its name, is the story of two boys on Half-Dome in the Yosemite Valley. Others include: "The Lost Poacher," "Chris Farrington-Able Seaman," "An Adventure in the Upper Sea," "Bald Face," "In Yeddo Bay," "Whose Business Is To Live," and "Typhoon Off the Coast of Japan"-London's first story, published at the age of seventeen.
