He continues southwest through Sorano and Sovana to Pitigliano, a mere fifty kilometers from the sea. Umbria and its opposite corner of the route is next. He heads east to Orvieto, Todi, Spoleto, Assisi, and via Perugia to Lake Trasimeno. At last it's back to Tuscany, to Arezzo, Montevarchi and into the foothills of Pratomagno. With the landscape so stunning, he crosses Chianti once again en route back to Florence.
